A week long programme of events including the RNLI Sailing Race, Raft Race, Angling Competitions, BBQ by the RNLI station team and much, much more. For more detailed information please visit the Torbay Lifeboat offical website - torbaylifeboat.org.uk
Torbay is among the busiest lifeboat stations in the Country and can expect around 100 launches in any one year. Brixham is a busy fishing port, there are five large marinas within our operational area together with leisure and yacht clubs, water skiing, para gliding, diving, cliffs (walks and falls!) - any water activity you can think of, including observing dolphins, probably occurs in our area.
Torbay RNLI lifeboat crew received the prestigious GMTV Emergency Services Award, as part of this year’s Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards.
The courageous crew members from Torbay, Devon rescued eight people from a stricken timber cargo ship caught in a gale force nine storm in January this year.
The crew, five of which are volunteers and each hold down full-time jobs, faced torrential rain and strong winds for two hours to reach the Ice Prince.
